For soldering wires to the motherboard, it shows to solder two to the ATMEL chip. If you could provide any more information on this i would greatly appreciate it. And finally, connecting these wires to the circuit, means connecting these wires to the wires from pin 4 & 7 and the ground one to the wire from pin 5 ? Tada!
You could try the following: Disconnect the AC adapter from the notebook, disconnect all other cables. Power on and hard disk 1 also disabled.I thought to try to reset to defaults but when i press f9 it doesnt work. Good luck and let us know. Which ones do I have to buy?
So you never get to the Windows desktop? What's to the left of the padlock? The smallest ones I got, had 0,1 Watt (1/10). 0,25 and more Watt might be too much (as I read). Contact the previous owner and ask him or her what the password is. more info here Pardon but I am the great inexpert one.

It should look like a upside down plastic U housing with a slot in the middle to prevent the connector from connecting with the wrong polarities.

So I'am out of luck? Excellent experience. Recheck your soldering. my review here No problem, on this page i will show you how to recover your old password.
Works fine now. The forum does subscribe using the "Clear CMOS/Recovery Jumper". You don't wan't to drop solder between the traces or burn a trace because its too hot and start ordering a new motherboard. Thinkpad is up and running again.
Type in (don't hit Enter): r24rf08 dump.bin Dumping the password Turn on your ThinkPad with all the wiring you just soldered. Preparing the spare PC You have made the hardware to read the chip, so now you need to supply the software. Comment by Frank: Friday, November 10th 2006 at 12:03 am hi all.. I went to Radio shack and bought a new cmos battery, installed it and it still will not hold system time.
