The chance of corrupting the eeprom if power fails or the AC adaptor is unplugged resulting in CRC errors in the eeprom is EXTREMELY HIGH. I put the battery on again and turned it on. I can't get to the IBM BIOS setup Utility, or the temporary boot devices. After initially calling IBM support, they recommended that I buy and replace the CMOS battery. So it looks like there is a problem with the bios but shouldn't a CRC error occur at the start and not after what appears to be a successful POST operation?? The POST error code 0175 refers to a CRC (cyclic redundancy check) reading from the EEPROM chip, that data is corrupted, most likely a faulty EEPROM chip. There are several tests you can perform (described below) to tell if this is the case with your system.

I have searched everywhere for a solution dose any one here know what I can do to get this thing running ..other than a new M/B or Laptop .. at this stage then nonthing happens I have tried this,\015\012open the notebook from back and remove the CMOS battery and leave it for 12 hours, then boot the system and shutdown This is not simply guesswork on my part, I have thoroughly researched this subject, please do accept it as FACT.
