Thread Status: Not open for further replies. As for the BIOS, you can boot into the BIOS, by pressing F1 at boot. Just replaced my cmos because i was getting the 161 163 192 erros. Working...

If so, then the problem is very likely a dead CMOS battery (I just replaced the one on my old thinkpad 600 by coincidence :-). It's been forever since I've brought out the 600X systems but I do remember once getting a 192 error by itself.

I will try digging to see if I can find anything out about upgrading the system board. Yes, my password is: Forgot your password? I once got the same result from the Easy Setup test, but it wasn't the MB, just the battery causing the error. It is my understanding thst if the CMOS battery is weak or dead the fan won't blow cooling the CPU - hence shut down and error message.
This is supposed to be a system fan error, but i'm not sure about it. get redirected here When you get the new fan installed, keep your hand near the exhaust port as you switch the computer on.
