We suggest you try the following tests: 1) Start the system and watch the status lights in the LCD hinge or near the power button. Reply » Report Abuse Judge it! If you have not done this before, follow the "readme" instructions to a tee, although the IBM process seems to be quite straight forward. I've done quite a bit of research on this error online and on the forum here. As far as the T-series hardware reliability is concerned, they have their "bugs" like any other system.

You could probably pick up a slightly faster T22 or T23 for just over $200. The Security chip is a nichttrennbarer part of an IBM / Lenovo machine, although this is often executed as a plug board.
Be in the know! Fortunately, we can run a blanking process and erase them...but not so the TXX Bios chip. The possibility of another board getting the same CRC error is slim (in my opinion). These errors are, we are quickly and inexpensively remedied.

You can send them away to be reprogrammed or replaced. Second, this bad CRC error can be generated by sudden power loss to the system, especially if the system loses power during boot up or POST process.
If not, I am considering buying another T21 and inserting my old hard drive into the machine for recovery. Note: The exchange of a block enough for the repair is not enough. Unfortunately, we cannot refund the CRC recovery cost. However upon further reading of other IBM threads and evaluating the documentation the error relates to the BIOS and IBM have had two attempts to resolve it....
