I O Device Error 1117 R-studio
Which do you think is more risky; the freezer trick (with a drive with fluid bearings) or swapping boards on a WD drive?Both are RISKY.. Description Error code 1117 is generated by the Windows operating system and is always caused by I/O (Input / Output) throughput issues with either the disk or the controller that it If the Drive's fine but the logic board's damaged, I thought I might be able to try swapping it with a good one and get the drive (and data!) back. Any help would be greatly appreciated. news
They just don't like it.... If I tried to access it, or even if I didn't after a couple of minutes, my VIA RAID tool would pop up and tell me that the disk has failed Can anyone recommend any programs? no ideas?

I took the HD off, went into Windows just fine, read some stuff about the problem on the net. Actually the WD info is incorrect, swapping boards is done all the time.
