I/o Error Reading Boot Cd Ubuntu
Run fsck manually. please reboot your pc and starting with Ubuntu live cd please try to put some common Ubuntu kernel live cd options you can find the boot options howto here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions Remove Downloaded archlinux-2015.04.01-dual.iso2. The CD then ran fine.
If you'd like to contribute content, let us know. As the I/O errors appear on exactly the same sectors I doubt that two people have exactly the same CD or CD-Drive with exactly the same error. I suggest you try Ubuntu 12.04, first a normal install, if you get the same I/O Error 5 then follow on. Thx and sorry for the trouble. CD Standards have changed over time and new devices seem to be good at backward compatibility. Is there still a limit on RAM size and is my problem caused by 1GB RAM?? I'll take your word for having checked the hard drive thoroughly. You might try a CD-R instead of a CD+R or a CD RW. This occurs both when using a Live DVD or CD, and a Live USB drive, so the problem is not the CD Drive.
TL;DR: The BIOS was faulty. Therefore am pretty much convinced it is not the media and must be the drive.
