I/o Error 17 On File /var/tmp
This same thing could happen with any program that uses temporary files. OK so here is what happend, looks like the var lvol got corrupted and you could touch a file but one wasn't able to fill it in with some data and See Note 411.1 at My Oracle Support for error and packaging details. Anyway posting this in case it helps someone else in the future as this gentleman's post helped me. More about the author
If I only use a small subsample of the data, the command works, so it seems to be a size issue. Either free up space in that directory, or set the LIBGUESTFS_CACHEDIR environment variable to point to another directory with more than 1GB of free space. Then disconnected all but the target device and booted into safe mode, tried to clone again and it failed on the same file - this time in the trash - duh! See also the virt-v2v(1) manual, section "Minimum free space check in the host". If the failure happened the user would run virt-v2v with -v -x, or libguestfs-test-tool, and the problem is obvious. OK, thanks for your reply, move this bug to VERIFIED. In both cases system administrators need to be involved in resolving the problems that result.

I had a similar problem and didn't find much either. Hi All, I also Faced the same issue and below are errors from errpt. See also the virt-v2v(1) manual, section "Minimum free space check in the host". To see full error messages you may need to enable debugging. Jones 2016-07-08 04:50:42 EDT I think so.
Note You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug. my review here Thanks in advance. Expected results: virt-v2v command should exit after reporting a error. The original error ("block I/O error in device") shouldn't happen now.
All seemed fine so we pointed the logs back to this filesystem and so far no more issues. Hope this is helpfull to someone :). Hi rjones, do you mean we can move this bug to verified since the error prompt is obvious to users, thanks. click site If reporting bugs, run virt-v2v with debugging enabled and include the complete output: virt-v2v -v -x [...] Result: We can get a clear error while host free space less than 1GB,
Logged a call with support today to try to find out what could have caused this but support said since it's fixed they have no way of knowing what could have ran fsck again.... Your problem with swinstall will continue to get worse.../var/adm/sw will grow with every patch and application.
My /tmp is 60 Mb and I also increased to 80 Mb and still receiving the same message.
But how much is actually free?? (I generally set /tmp to about 100mb or so....but that's a personal decision)Second idea, if you have enough space in /tmp, then I might try Jones 2016-07-06 09:21:34 EDT I added this supermin patch which makes it use /var/tmp instead of /tmp if TMPDIR is not set. Use the command:ll -d /usr/tmpJust like /bin and /lib, these are obsolete directory names and your system is using transition links (aka, symbolic links) to keep the old paths alive.
