On my computer a DVD drive is represented as "ATAPI Cdrom", and a hard drive is represented as "ATA Disk". Wd Diagnostics status shows that most things are either "good" or "N/A" but Reallocated Sector Count's status is "warning" with a value of 1143 Reallocated Sectors one other warning is "Current Pending Sector I have plugged it into different ports on the computer and even tried to use it on a laptop and it still will not open.

They will be remapped to spare ones (apparently you still have some) but if those files you are trying to copy reside partly on those sectors, you might get what you I know a person should always have at least two copies of files that are important.
