Plug in only your problem external drive, run Partition Wizard and post a screenshot to examine how your external drive shows up in it. Once it got completed I was not able to find any files in the partition. Could you please help me? Learned a neat trick in the process though, thanks to you! It took a long long while just to open the drive's contents, when I finally could double click a folder inside I get the error 'could not perform request i/o device it worked perfectly! Hopefully this means my files are still in tact and able to be recovered.

There's hardware imagers out there that do a better job but as far as I know they're pricey. I am able to see the files in my disk just with the Quick search, and when writing the new partition table, there is no message other than the confirmation (no I/o Device Error Internal Hard Drive If the problem with the drive is not simply a logical error but is a manifestation of physical damage then the more you use it and try to repair, the worse Thanks!
