no i have to send the thing to a repair centre and i'm without a machine for at least 3 days. giving out extended warranties and replacing out of warranty printers is this forum. Now a little over 6 months have passed and the replacement is doing the same thing. I am disappointed.

I myself first purchased my 3220C in Dec 2003.In July 28 2004 I was given a replacement due to error 41. They know it is a problem and should cover anyone who has this problem, no matter the age of the machine.
bad enough i'm broke with a wife and kid... I am a recent victim of error 41. Please visit Tom Martino's "troubleshooter.com" and make a complaint there as I did. I asked if they knew that they had a problem why not try to keep someone happy ??

It refuses to do anything, won't even scan or fax. Check This Out You are being paid for by a dis-reputable company. I was stung with the error today and was angry over the fact that I have to bring my MFC 3820cn 62 Miles away for free repair which could take up I called brother and they said the ink was too dry and that I had to by new ink carts.
But there was a bigger problem. It sounds like I should just throw the machine out my third-floor window! The 1800C went through ink cartridges like water. Source I know "Big Brother" checks this forum and I don't care.
It did go through about 3 sets of ink cartridges, so that must be about 150 printed pages (and I'm being generous) giving me a cost of ownership somewhere around $2-$2.25 This appears to be planned obsolecense on the part of Brother. I'm up s__t creek without a paddle!

I talked to Big Brother in my country (Philippines) and they said they've made a hundred fixes replacing the printhead @ $144 + the cost of labor. Did it many times! We have experienced Brother all-in-one printer engineers within one hour’s travel of most places throughout the UK.

They have definitely put their money where their mouth is and believe me it is costing them plenty. Please try the request again. We run a small business from our home, bought a MFC3100 fax in '03. But I told him that the error would go away if I turned the printer off for a few minutes and turn it back on.

To protect your investment and obtain premium performance from the Brother product, Brother strongly recommends our customers use genuine Brother supplies.I am a Brother dealer and can help with this repair.
I called Brother and they said that it was Error 41 is a printhead problem and that it will need to be replaced, however I am out of the warranty so It only takes like a minute to change and no tools are needed. Anyone out there want to buy a MFC5100C with a newly replaced print head?
